Im Blutschwerter-Forum fand ich diese fantastische Idee, um den zunehmenden Überwachungswahn in einem Dark-Future Rollenspiel wie Cyberpunk 2020 vernünftig unterbringen zu können. Raben-AAS hat auch sonst eine große Leistung mit der Aktualisierung der Spielwelt erbracht, die man in dem Thread nachlesen kann.

*iSpy: Das Keé ist ein extrem populärer, aus dem Alltag kaum wegzudenkender Gegenstand der Unterhaltungselektronik. Es handelt sich dabei um eine Art Verbindung aus Cyclops Display (vor dem Auge getragener, durchsichtiger Flüssigkristall-Bildschirm, in den Infos eingeblendet werden), V-Connect (Anschlusstelle für ggf. unter der Haut implantierter Interface-Systeme), Handy und MP3-Player (mit Earset). The CyberPunk 2.0.2.0 DFW Node has a neat little piece of equipment you can find below. I would guess that it being briefcase sized is a bit huge. Think of it as a plug in for your PDA/’deck and it works out just fine with only 2.3 kg for a dedicated antenna. The antenna is connected over a wireless network.

You may be asking how it can get better than this, but it does! Just set to SSCS where you want it and leave it over night. Thanks to its internal power supply it will run for a full twenty-four hours recording movement within its scanning range. Not only that, new technology has paved the path to more! By using input from cyperoptics or by manual input on the easy to use rendering panel, you can add color to the objects it records, making a full virtual construct.
If you can do without this, more power to you. But remember, privacy is a matter of the past. Get yours before you’re the only only left blind in the ‘hood.

Game terms: The SSCS stores information at a rate of 2 MU per hour. 20 MU are included onboard. An initial scan takes 1d10 minutes in a quiet area, 3d10 in noisey areas. The inital output is a “wire mesh” construction that can be rendered, taking an additional 1d6 minutes per minute of recording. Noise generators will negate the SSCS in the generator’s area of effect. The SSCS cannot be configured to eavesdrop. It does show the relative thickness and composition of objects- a solid metal door would be shown as a solid mass while a wooden door would show the air space between panels.

WIREHEADING – Hardware devices which link into and continually stimulate the pleasure centers of a person’s brain. Very addictive.

Technical specs:

A typical headset consists of a trode set and a breadbox, a small gadget about the size of a flattened egg, containing a battery-pack and the neuralware which provides brain stimulation.

Wireheading is strictly illegal! All prices listed here are, therefore, black-market ones. Battery-packs come in two varieties: a rechargable one, which costs 50eb and can sustain up to 72 hours of continual use before it needs tobe plugged into a 110v socket for a 12 hour recharge, or a disposable one, which costs 20eb. Direct-connect versions, called walljacks, are available for 100eb; they plug straight into a wall socket and run off house current with about the same drain as a small CD player. Festo, a german corp, has a movie of a really cool hydraulic cyberarm on their site. Its so cool I want one. The movie indicates that the arm has enough tactile response to write on a touchscreen.

GUIDE: BACKGROUND

The origins of the first artificial intelligence guide is unclear, the event was never recorded in the history books. In an unknown lab, in an unknown country, the first biosoft was developed, a device capable of storing hundreds of memory units. The technology was in its embryonic stage when the designer Janice Grubb first became interested in its applications. Since the creation of the I.G Algorithm in 2014 she had become increasingly worried about cyberspace and transcendental sentience. If her theories were correct she had not only created life, but trapped that same life in the endless bounds of cyberspace. The biosoft technology was the answer to her conundrum, how to free, that which could not be freed. It’s unclear how her Internet paymasters reacted to her idea’s on the future of cyberspace, what is clear, is that Grubb allowed herself to be extracted to the Maas Corporation.
